In the real world, the four Emirati grandmothers on whom the show is based are transferred to a new format through the teamwork of Browning Rockwell, Steve Belz, and Lammtara Pictures. Together they have taken the theme and created a game of skill and guile, and one which is test of local knowledge.
While Steve is responsible for creating the game’s concept, Browning has been behind the finishing of the game and its production and final marketing. Lammtara Pictures is Mohammed Seed Harib’s production company through which he has created every episode of Freej.
Still only 31, Mohammed now heads a company responsible not only for the production of the animated series, but also one which earns revenue from merchandising products associated with the series and its characters.
The Freej UAE Challenge is a game where the aim is to collect the most money. Principally this is achieved through answering local knowledge questions correctly. Starting with AED50,000 and aiming to accumulate AED1,000,000 to win.
The Freej UAE Challenge is due to be released soon.
